Goalscoring legend returns to host sports forum

IAN MUIR, Tranmere’s all-time leading goalscorer, is coming back to the Wirral to talk football with the fans next month.

The striker, whose 180 goals fired Rovers through two promotions and into five Wembley appearances during the 1980s and 1990s, will be heading a panel of former Prenton Park heroes at the sports forum organised by ex-goalkeeper Eric Nixon.

The event takes place at Birkenhead St Mary’s Cricket Club in Birkenhead Park on Sunday, December 14, from 3pm to 5pm.

Ex-players such as Kenny Irons, John Morrissey and Shaun Garnett are also lined up.

Tickets at £10 include a hotpot Sunday lunch and a donation to the Lily Breast Cancer Centre in Liverpool.

Details and tickets from Eric Nixon on 07843 865 873 or email eric.n@ntlworld.com
