l STEVE DAVIES has suffered another cruel injury set-back as he attempts to establish himself at Derby County.

The 20-year-old front man joined the Rams in a £275,000-plus deal during the summer, after his final season with Tranmere was all but wiped out by a cruciate ligament injury.

Now Davies faces three months on the sidelines after suffering a fractured eye-socket. He sustained the injury during a Championship win over Plymouth last Saturday and has since has undergone an operation to correct the problem.

Rams boss Paul Jewell admitted: "It's a big blow for us and for him."
