WAYNE ALLISON, one of the coaches who helped Tranmere win the battle for League One survival last season, departed the club today after becoming a victim of the financial contraints at Prenton Park. Allison said he was "bitterly disappointed" about leaving after discovering that Rovers' staff budget for the new campaign would not allow manager Les Parry to keep the two senior coaches who worked under his command last season. Shaun Garnett, who stepped up from youth and reserve team duties last season, is expected to be installed as No 2 after Parry's appointment as manager for the new season is confirmed over the next few days. Parry said: "I'm very sorry to see Wayne leave the club. He did a great job while he was here and the three of us worked well as a team. "Unfortunately, looking at the staffing budgets, decisions had to be made. Further discussions will take place with the board regarding the new staffing structure." Allison said: "I'm bitterly disappointed to be leaving the club in the manner it has happened.
