Wirral Barbie collector's children’s charity bid

“They are a bit of magic and sparkle. I started the collection as an investment and now it is paying off.

“I now have a little girl, Grace, and want to pass them on to her one day, but until then I want to display them in a museum or art gallery.

“They are just gathering dust in my loft and garage, and are so gorgeous they deserve to be on show.

“I know that children would love to see the displays – you should see the faces on those that have seen them.”

Mrs Ellis wants her collection to do some good by raising money for under-privileged children in Wirral and has chosen the Home-start charity, which supports families.

She added: “I asked Open Culture for help, and they were amazing and put me in touch with a number of local charities.

“ I would want a collection box with the dolls on display in order to put a little bit of magic and sparkle into the lives of disadvantaged children.”
