Council planners give unanimous backing for Wirral sports academy

The existing building on Bromborough International Business Park, has changing rooms, a canteen, classrooms and a mezzanine viewing area, making it ideal for the scheme with minimal modifications.
The plan is to create three two- third size pitches, which will all be indoors so that they could be used throughout the year with local colleges already indicating their interest.
Cllr Steve Niblock had told the committee there have previously been numerous examples of buildings being used for facilities outside the remit of their zoning.
