Drink Up Stand Up, Liverpool City Centre, 5 May 2009:

Always a highlight of the Comedy Festival calendar, Drink Up Stand Up is the original comedy pub crawl.

Four venues, four comedians, and many unexpected incidents packed in to a short trip around Liverpool’s windswept streets.

Compere Brendan Riley held the night together with the easy-going wit that we have come to expect from him, despite (thankfully non-violent) run-ins with at least two upstanding members of the public.

Scooby, Phil James and Danny Deegan provided the laughs at the various venues along the way, and the crowd heading for home were left rain-sodden but with smiles on their faces.
