Jobs in balance at 19 Merseyside Blockbuster stores as DVD rental firm calls in administrators

MORE Merseyside jobs were left in the balance after DVD rental firm Blockbuster became the latest big-name retailer to go into administration.
The chain, which has 19 stores across the region, was yesterday handed to administrators Deloitte who are now seeking a buyer.
Consumers were yesterday being reassured that, unlike HMV, Blockbuster would continue to honour gift cards and credit awarded through trade-ins.
The firm has branches in Old Swan, Allerton Road and Birkenhead.
