Two men charged with arson after Seacombe fire

TWO teenagers were charged after a mum-to-be and her daughter were rescued by firefighters during a blaze at their Merseyside home.

Crews from Wallasey and Birkenhead fire stations were called to Demesne Street, Seacombe, just after 12.10am on Sunday.

Mum Donna Windsor stayed in the smoke-filled house as firefighters pulled her nine-year-old daughter Lizzie to safety through a first-floor window.

The 26-year-old, who is six months pregnant and is the older sister of murdered Wirral student Hannah Windsor, was unable to leave through a window and was helped out of the property after the small fire was extinguished.

Dale Guiton, 18, and Michael Guiton, 19, both from Demesne Street, Seacombe, were charged with arson with intent to endanger life yesterday.

They were due to appear at Wirral magistrates court today.
