A MERSEYSIDE woman is calling for support to help her reach the final of the UK’s biggest singing competition.
Alex Devine, from Kirkby, sang Listen by Beyonce in the regional final of Open Mic UK. But the 24-year-old just missed out on the judges’ decision to put her through to the national final.
She was given the lifeline of a wildcard place, but must receive enough votes to secure her position.
Wirral student Holly Wright has already won a place in the final.
The 20-year-old from Birkenhead will sing in front of more than 2,000 people at the 02 Arena in London on January 19.
She said: “It was just so exciting, doing something you love and being recognised for it.”
To help Alex Devine win a place in the national final text “Wildcard263” to 284222 before December 12.
