Join the fitness revolution in the great outdoors

WIRRAL conservationists are being offered a workout with a difference next month – wearing wellies in a gym that’s in the great outdoors.

A team of volunteers will be working on heathland restoration – which combines exercise with conserving sites of special scientific interest.

It’s a great way of improving your strength, stamina and practical skills, while benefiting Wirral’s precious green spaces.

So instead of pounding running machines and pumping iron, participants will be clearing undergrowth, lopping trees and enjoying the great outdoors. The project will be led by rangers who provide tools and guidance.

To join the next working party this Sunday, meet at Thurstaston Hill on Telegraph Road. The day runs from 1. For details call 0151 677-7594 or email midwirralrangers@wirral.gov.uk.
