THE festive season may be over, but there’s still chance to recycle your tree and cards after you take them down on Twelfth Night.
Real Christmas trees can be chopped up and placed in the brown garden waste bin. Or alternatively, they can be taken to the nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre at Bidston (Wallasey Bridge Road), Clatterbridge (Mount Road) or West Kirby (Greenbank Road).
Don’t forget to remove all decorations and any metal base brackets beforehand – you’ll need them again next year.
While you’re there, don’t forget to recycle (or even better cut up and re-use) your Christmas cards, wrapping paper and cardboard boxes.
All centres are open everyday from 8am to 5pm. Visit ww.merseysidewda.gov.uk for a list of materials accepted at each of these waste recycling centres.
