My latest camera is the Sony A77 SLT with many new and useful features such as an electronic viewfinder and live histogram taking me full circle. They say that there's nothing really new in life and ideas just go round in circles.

Being a passionate gardener for many years and a keen photographer, a natural subject for me to shoot is flowers and gardens and I'm often seen at Ness Botanic Gardens in Wirral during all seasons as a member friend of the gardens.
I'm a member of Hoylake Photographic Society and I believe that being around other photographers and competing in club competitions has helped me to improve my skills and my eye for a shot. I've been influenced by the work of some terrific guest speakers who have passed on their post processing techniques and tips over the years and out of this exposure my own photographic style has emerged.
Since taking up photography I've tried my hand at shooting weddings – which I found stressful, and stock photography – which I found boring, and I'm now settled on producing fine art prints, which I enjoy. It is relaxing and seems to suit my style of photography.
My philosophy is simply to create something beautiful and interesting in post processing that someone may wish to hang on their wall and enjoy.
If you want to see my work in print then you can buy selected prints from the Seagrass Studio and Gallery in Hoylake; Paper, Scissors, Stone in Wallasey; the Williamson Art Gallery and Museum and the Rathbone Studio in Birkenhead from January 2013.
