LOWER Heswall was the place to be last Tuesday night for the latest round of Wirral Chefs Shine.
Around 200 hungry News readers packed into Sheldrakes Restaurant for a three-course meal served up by award-winning head chef Robert Bryson.
The 22-year-old from New Brighton admits he likes a challenge - and they don’t come any bigger than Wirral Chefs Shine!
His dishes included a pressing of broccoli and lobster, chicken with sweetcorn and asparagus risotto and tart tatin of greengages with vanilla ice cream.
Robert, who is dad to three-year-old Niaya, said: “It’s been enjoyable and a good night. It’s nice to have been able to put everything into just a few dishes. It’s given me a chance to do something different, something you would never normally do.All the lads in the kitchen have worked really hard and they’ve put a lot of hours in. The competition has been in the back of my mind and everything the other chefs have done has looked good.
“It’s been a long two days but it’s been worth the hard work because it’s come out really well.”
