WITH so many of this week’s celebrations centred around Valentine’s Night tomorrow, it’s easy to forget that there’s still a weekend to look forward to.
If you’ve got the blues about not spending February 14 with someone special, you can share them with Midnight Blues when they perform at Birkenhead’s Swinging Arm in Church Street on Friday.
There’s more music to come at the weekend. On Saturday, The Showbiz Kids are playing while the Power 3 play on Sunday afternoon from 4pm to 6pm. They make way for the regular quiz which gets going at 8.45pm.
Revolver has another impressive roll call of acts this weekend.
On Friday night, Incubus get the tribute treatment in the shape of Incubros.
Even if you’re not the hearts and flowers type in Valentine’s week, you can still put some roses in your life this Saturday.
That’s when those about to rock can enjoy Slash UK, a band which combines tributes to Velvet Revolver and Guns ‘n’ Roses, appear at Revolver.
If you’re heading for Revolver this weekend, expect the acts on stage at around 11.30pm.

Rock Lobster is also keeping Wirral’s live music scene healthy this coming weekend.
The Acoustic Knights will be playing from 9pm on Saturday.
Over at the Soft Rock Cafe in Wallasey, tonight (Wednesday) is jam night.
Anyone who wants to get up and show the crowd what they can do is welcome and instruments, as always, will be provided if necessary.
The Refreshment Rooms in Rock Ferry has a night for all you romantics tomorrow.
There’s a three course meal for £25 per person – ideal for first dates or proposals.
On Friday there’s something for everyone when Eezee Street bring the best of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, with a whole lot of rock thrown in to keep things moving along.
If you want a less musical evening, Villa Jazz brings its Pop Up Bistro to the Refreshment Rooms on Saturday, with bookings taken from 8pm.
