WIRRAL students travelled to London to sing with Brit Award-winning singer Kate Nash.
The all-female group from Woodchurch High School attended workshops at the school given by Kate and the musicians who play in her band.
The students were encouraged to write their own material and to perfect their performance skills.
The singer then chose Woodchurch, along with another school from Yeovil, Somerset, to perform at a gala show at the Southbank Centre.
Kate organised a series of workshops nationwide to encourage female singer-songwriters to perform with confidence in an area of the music industry dominated by men.
Woodchurch High School’s head of drama Cally Hughes, who helped with the workshop, said: “The whole event was so professional and such a great opportunity for the girls.
“Kate Nash performed to close the show and invited the girls to perform on stage with her. It certainly was a night to remember.”
The Woodchurch students were given their own dressing room and treated to a meal before a soundcheck with Kate’s musicians.
They performed a selection of original songs and covers on stage.
