COMPETITION: Win tickets to the Light Cinema’s charity screening of Les Miserables for Claire House
THE Light Cinema in New Brighton is holding a charity screening of musical weepie Les Misérables this weekend – and you could be there too.
We have teamed up with the cinema to give away two pairs of tickets to the event on Saturday.
All proceeds from the night will go to Claire House.
There will be drinks from 7pm in the Light Café Bar and the film starts at 8pm.
If you aren’t lucky enough to win our competition, tickets are £10 and include a glass of wine and popcorn.
The musical has been leaving audiences across the world in floods of tears but there’s no need to worry about drying your eyes – the Light has been supplying tissues at all its screenings.
The cinema’s Jane Woodason said: “The music is really emotive so everybody cries. The story is amazing with the poor people rising up against the ruling classes.
“All of the performances are so emotional, particularly Anne Hathaway’s, and Hugh Jackman is the most brilliant Jean Valjean.
“People were beside themselves so we decided to put boxes of tissues in the screens. People pass them along the rows so the audience really bonds. The stage version is so well loved so expectations were huge.”
Les Mis features Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe and Helena Bonham Carter.
All proceeds from the charity night will go to Claire House.
To book, call the Light Cinema on 214 1370 or buy online at www.lightcinemas.co.uk
