Audition dates announced for Wirral’s annual Spotlight on Youth variety show

MOVE over X Factor – Wirral’s youth talent showcase is returning for a 32nd year.

Auditions for annual variety show Spotlight on Youth will take place at the Civic Hall, Wallasey Town Hall on January 29 and 30 ahead of the show itself in April.

Over the years Spotlight on Youth has celebrated the talents of many local youngsters while raising thousands of pounds for the Mayor of Wirral’s special charity appeal.

This year’s Mayor, Cllr Gerry Ellis is supporting Birkenhead YMCA, Wirral and North Cheshire Prostate Cancer Support Group and Wirral Guide and Scout Association.

Cllr Ellis said: “Spotlight On Youth is now one of the North West’s premier variety shows, and gives many talented youngsters their first real chance of stage experience.

“A lot of work goes into making each show a success, and it creates a tremendous feelgood factor and great night out into the bargain.

“Every year the auditions attract a fantastic range of skills and talent and we hope to welcome many more talented young people again this year.

“We want to hear from singers, dancers, actors, comedians, musicians – anyone who can entertain an audience, no matter what their experience or forte.”

The auditions are open to young people aged under 19 years of age living in the Merseyside area.

Auditions will take place between 5 and 9pm – simply turn up between 5pm and 9pm with your completed application form available from www.spotlightonyouth.co.uk
