A WIRRAL library is hosting a performance of a play giving an insight into the life of Charles Dickens.
Off Book Theatre Company will perform Dickens, Drood and The Best of Tomes at Wallasey Central Library, Earlston Road on Friday, December 14.
The play features excerpts from some of his most, and least well-known works including The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, Oliver Twist, The Pickwick Papers, A Christmas Carol, A Tale of Two Cities and many more.
The play brings to life 29 of Dickens’ timeless characters as the author attempts to finish his final work The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
Councillor Chris Meaden, cabinet member for culture, tourism and leisure, said: “This performance will be a great celebration of his work, and what better place to appreciate it than in the surrounds of historic Wallasey Central Library.”
The performance takes place from 2.30-4.30pm and tickets cost £5, available from the library – booking is essential. Call 639 2334 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
