Artists, musicians and poets needed to help organise next year’s Wirral Festival of Firsts

THE search is on for artists, musicians, poets and other creatives to get involved in organising next year’s Wirral Festival of Firsts.

The festival – which takes place from July 6 to 14 – is the brainchild of Wirral writer and entertainer John Gorman.

He said: “The aim of the festival is to showcase the artistic talent of the area and, with the help of the community, develop the festival into a major national event.”

The festival is run by volunteers with steering groups responsible for different aspects – and organisers say more are always welcome.

Hundreds of artists, musicians and poets took part this summer, with premiere performances of plays, poems and musical works in Hoylake.

Volunteers are needed to help with everything from administration to event organisation, backstage work and front of house.

If you would like to be involved as an artist or volunteer apply via the website, www.festivaloffirsts.co.uk, email info@wirralfestivaloffirsts.co.uk or call 07716 093670.
