Former Oasis manager Alan McGee to DJ at opening of Birkenhead cafe bar and live music venue Jam

FORMER Oasis manager and Creation Records founder Alan McGee will be a special guest DJ at the opening of Birkenhead cafe bar and live music venue Jam.

Described by owner Geniene Reese as "Wirral’s ultimate entertainment venue", Jam is aimed at the 25+ market and will cater for music lovers.

There will be weekly live bands covering a range of genres as well as themed music evenings.

By day, Jam will open as a cafe bar offering hearty meals.

Jam – formerly 2a Price Street and the Life Cafe – is on Price Street, by Hamilton Square.

The launch night, on Friday, November 16, will also feature Digsy from Smaller/Sums warming up for local mod band Moses, who will be playing in the life room.

Geniene said: "I’m really excited to be launching Jam. It will be like no other venue on the Wirral.

"It will be the place for the ultimate night out, providing great music and great food.

"I want Jam to be the place where people can come and relax during the day but also a place for a great night out, especially at weekends with our weekly live bands on Fridays and Saturdays.

"I think those over 25 will appreciate Jam, the music and our offer and I look forward to welcoming people to the venue."
