AS HALLOWE’EN approaches, Wallasey-based Hand In Hand Theatre is beginning rehearsals for its own tale of witches.
The theatre company will present Arthur Miller’s powerful drama The Crucible at the Floral Pavilion’s Blue Lounge next spring.
The play, which celebrates its 60th anniversary next year, is set in 1962 Massachusetts when a witch-hunting fury sweeps through communities.
As attempts to calm the hysteria fail, families are torn apart and lives are destroyed.
The play will be performed on March 8 and 9, with a special schools matinee show on Friday, March 8.
An original soundtrack will be composed for the production and Hand In Hand plans to make a short trailer filmed in the woods in November.
Tickets are £10 or £8 concessions (and a special school rate of £5) from 666 0000 or www.floralpavilion.com

PERFORMERS will show short extracts of the play in rehearsals and take questions at Melrose Hall, Hoylake, on Saturday, February 22, at 2.30pm and the Treasure House Theatre at World Museum Liverpool on Wednesday, February 13 (various times).
Admission is free.
