REVOLVER in Birkenhead is marking Hallowe’en with another “Medevil” all-nighter.
The spooky spectacular has become an institution among Revolver regulars who are encouraged to don their best wizard, witch and ghoul costumes – with prizes for those who dress to impress.
Topping the bill at this year’s Medevil night on Friday, October 26, are Bolton-based classic rock and metal covers band Wolfpack.
Revolver manager Katie Sutton said: “This is our biggest night of the year by far – it’s a monster night, pardon the pun!
“People really embrace it and get into the spirit of things with wild and wacky fancy dress.”
Revolver will be open until 6am and revellers will also be entertained by fire eaters and jousting.
The venue’s regular DJs inside and in the venue’s outdoor pavilion will play classic rock, metal and indie all night.
Revolver will be decorated medieval-style, with a £50 voucher for the reveller judged to be wearing the best fancy dress outfit.
Wolfpack – who are also playing at Revolver this Saturday, October 20 – describe themselves as good mates who share a passion for rock and say their music is “in your face classic rock and metal”.
The five-piece band are Mick Rabbitt (guitar), Phil Loftus (guitar), Phil Gavin (bass), Paul “Andy” Anderson (drums) and singer Nige “Nidge” Roberts – who is also in rock band Marseille alongside Art Attack’s Neil Buchanan.
They say their influences include Iron Maiden, Metallica, Sabbath, Judas Priest and UFO.
On Saturday, October 27 Revolver will welcome Skinny Lizard.
The Hallowe’en theme will continue the following Friday, November 2, with a Rocky Horror Show night – when fancy dress will again be encouraged.
Revolver is at 2 New Chester Road, Birkenhead. For more information search for Revolver Venue on Facebook.
