Guitarists heading to Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton for James Burton weekend

FORT Perch Rock in New Brighton is holding a James Burton weekend to celebrate the best in guitar music.

The acclaimed guitarist will play in three events at the Fort from Friday, July 20 to Sunday, July 22.

Louisiana-born Burton has been called the guitarist’s guitarist and has played with the biggest names of all – from Jerry Lee to Ricky Nelson to Elvis Presley.

The Friday show will be an Elvis Night featuring Burton, Cash in the Attic star Paul Hayes with The Collection and the Passionates.

Saturday sees a grand double header, with performances from Burton, Albert Lee, The Shakers and Don Woods compere Frankie Connor.

There will be support from the Schraven Brothers.

Sunday features Los Pacaminos featuring Paul Young and Burton with support from Emma Ronchetti.
