FORMER Six of the Best frontman Matt Black is performing at Revolver in Birkenhead on Saturday (April 28).
The hotly-tipped musician, who was also frontman for A Foreigner’s Journey, Invisible Idols and Stagefright, is the current vocalist for melodic rock band Serpentine and is known for his enigmatic stage presence and powerful vocals.
Matt and the Matt Black Band will perform tracks from recently-released first album Dreamcatcher at the live music and rock venue.
There will also be his take on hits from bands including Journey, Foreigner and Queen.
Revolver manager Katie Sutton said: “This guy is going to be a star, so get down to Revolver and see him while you still can.”
Revolver is also preparing for another all-nighter on Sunday, May 6 to mark the bank holiday weekend.
The event will feature tributes to AC/DC, Limp Bizkit and Thunder.
Katie said: “It will feature all the usual all-nighter madness that Revolver is known for including a 6am bar, shot girl, BBQ, drink offers and sets from two DJs.
“Stiff Bizkit are Europe’s leading tribute to nu-metal icons Limp Bizkit, bringing the whole Bizkit experience and playing tunes that span a 14-year career.
“DC/79 is a high voltage tribute to the Bon Scott era of AC/DC, and venue legends at Revolver.
“They recreate the energy, charisma and attitude of the 70s period of this super charged, feel good band.
“This is consistently a fantastic show and die hard DC fans will love it.”
Scottish-born Australian rock musician Ronald Belford “Bon Scott” was lead singer of AC/DC from 1974 until his death in 1980.
Katie said: “With Sounds Like Thunder you get two acts for the price of one. The band give a raw and talented performance of Thunder’s many great songs as well as a set of the greatest classic rock hits to date.”
DJ Mogsey will be in the outdoor pavilion while rock/metal DJ Gav will play songs from the 1960s inside.
