Singer/songwriter Caroline England playing special gig to help raise £6,000 for Hoylake woman’s wheelchair appeal

SINGER/songwriter Caroline England is playing a special gig on Saturday (March 17) to help buy an electric wheelchair for a Hoylake woman.

Neighbours are rallying around to help Kaliya Franklin, 35, who has been told she is not eligible for an NHS electric wheel- chair.

They decided they would raise £6,000 to fund the purchase them- selves to help her stay in the area she loves.

Kaliya suffers from a rare and debilitating condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which means her joints dislocate easily and she is unable to walk further than a few metres.

Hoylake-based Caroline has taken time out from recording her second album to start the fundraising. She will play at Panache on Market Street from 7.30pm.

She said: “I am delighted to be able to help. This electric chair will dramatically improve the quality of Kaliya’s life.

“If everybody gives a small amount we can easily raise the £6,000 needed get the appropriate chair for her, even a donation of £2 really helps.”

Donations can be sent via Paypal to wheelchairforkali@carolineengland.co.uk
