Soprano Kathryn Rudge joining Fron Welsh Male Voice Choir for Age UK Wirral concert on Saturday

SOPRANO Kathryn Rudge is joining the Fron Welsh Male Voice Choir for a St David’s Day concert for Age UK Wirral this Saturday.

The fundraiser will take place at the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool.

The 60-strong choir formed 64 years ago in the village of Froncysyllte, near Wrexham.

Liverpool-born Kathryn won a new legion of fans in Wirral last year with her appearance at a concert celebrating the 150th anniversary of Birkenhead School.

The 25-year-old former Merseyside Young Singer of the Year graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2011.

One reviewer called her performance in the English National Opera’s Marriage of Figaro “chaotically sexy, charismatic and totally compelling”.
