WIRRAL musician Brian Cummins is taking a rare break from his busy schedule at home to go on a European tour.
The Moreton singer is preparing to pick up his flute again to join his Genesis tribute band Carpet Crawlers for a week of appearances on the continent.
Brian plays the instrument and also sings in the band, which plays music from both the Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins eras of Genesis.
He also plays in Hush, duo Crush and tours across the world with Mick Pointer’s Marillion.
Brian and the Carpet Crawlers are playing a pre-tour warm-up gig at the Olde Red Lion in Little Sutton on Thursday, October 20 from 8pm.
Brian said: “I’m taking a week off from Hush and we’ll be playing at the Mick Jagger Centre in Dartford, Kent then going to Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Holland.
“We’re doing the warm-up gig because we’ve got a new guitarist. It’s looking like it’ll be a good night.”
After their visit to Europe the band will be playing closer to home at the O2 Academy in Liverpool on November 25. Tickets are £5.
They are also mulling over an offer to tour in South America next year.
Brian said the Crawlers pride themselves on offering fans the complete Genesis experience.
He said: “We do everything from the Peter Gabriel songs to when Phil Collins was in Genesis. This time around we’ll be doing a lot of material we haven’t covered before from both eras.
“We’ll be wearing all the costumes at the Olde Red Lion and having the lighting effects – it’s going to be an extravaganza.”
l We have teamed up with the Carpet Crawlers to give away a pair of tickets to their Liverpool O2 show, plus a copy of their DVD and two band t-shirts.
