NEW Brighton’s newest bar is looking for Wirral’s undiscovered talent.
iKandi, formerly Bobby’s Bar on the promenade, is launching iKandi Got Talent, which will take place every Thursday night.
The venue is looking for the best singers, bands and comedians the borough has to offer – and there are prizes to be won every week and £500 for the winner.
Heats start this Thursday (October 13) and continue until November. Semi-finals are on November 24 and December 1 with the grand final on Thursday, December 8.
iKandi manager Nick Simons said: “It’s going to be a great night with a few laughs along the way and I’m not talking comedians – I’ve seen some of the singers.”
The runner-up in the competition will win an iKandi party booth for 15 people with drinks and there’s a magnum of vodka for the act in third place.
All finalists will receive a photoshoot with sponsors Skylight Fotos.
iKandi is open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8pm to 3am (2am Thursday and Sunday) and has a line-up featuring a mix of DJs and live music.
On Fridays, DJ Derek Kaye plays current dance music, pop and party from the last decade.
This Saturday there will be live music from Liverpool soul and funk band The Backbeats, starting at 9pm.
DJ and radio presenter Steve Cocky and DJ Christian Davies are on the decks this and every Sunday.
iKandi has also opened a private VIP room for functions of up to 100 people, which is available seven days a week.
