The Drifters bringing UK tour to the Floral Pavilion Theatre, New Brighton on September 9

THE latest line-up of The Drifters will be at the Floral Pavilion Theatre in New Brighton on Friday, September 9.

The R ‘n’ B/soul vocal group is celebrating the success of their greatest hits album, “Up on the Roof” with a tour of the UK.

The album reached number 12 in March and has remained in the UK charts for five months.

The group will perform some of the greatest hits of the Drifters like Saturday Night at the Movies and Save the Last Dance, paying homage to former members including Clyde McPhatter, Rudy Lewis, Ben E. King and Johnny Moore.

The show will also feature tracks from the disco era, early doo wop classics and contemporary new material.

Current Drifter Michael Williams said: “We are very excited about going back on the road – expect a show packed with songs recorded by some of the greatest members of this line-up and some surprises in store.”
