REVOLVER in Birkenhead will take on a western theme this Friday with the arrival of Gunslinger and Savage Outlaw.
Gunslinger was formed by Alan Davey, who handled bass, synth and front man duties for Hawkwind for 22 years from 1984 to 2006.
Davey has won praise from iconic rocker Lemmy – who was famously sacked by Hawkwind.
When asked by “rocking reverend” Paul Stevens who his favourite successor in Hawkwind was, Lemmy replied: “Alan Davey, no doubt”.
On Motorhead’s album Orgasmatron, Lemmy later dubbed Davey “The Super Bass Assassin 2.”
Gunslinger’s music is described as gun metal.
The band are currently on a tour of Europe and, while their album Unlawful Odds has sold out at retailers, they are hoping to have more copies available on their merchandise stand at Revolver.
The appearance comes ahead of a busy autumn for Alan Davey, who will join a European tour by the Hawklords – who were first formed by the late Bob Calvert as a breakaway unit from the original band.
l Savage Outlaw will go on stage this Friday (July 22) at 10pm followed by Gunslinger from 11.30pm.
