Win tickets to night of culture at Birkenhead School’s Perfect Pitch extravaganza with Vasily Petrenko

WIRRAL News has a very special prize this week ... we have two pairs of tickets to give away to one of Wirral’s top cultural events in 2011.

Perfect Pitch is a celebration concert with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Vasily Petrenko to mark Birkenhead School’s 150th anniversary.

This unique musical occasion takes place on June 18, when the school’s cricket pitch will be transformed into a stunning concert venue.

The concert will also feature guest soloist, mezzo soprano Kathryn Rudge, and culminate with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, including a choreographed display of fireworks.

As media partners in the event, Wirral News will be hosting a table; there’ll be a Champagne and Pimms reception, a Perfect Picnic Pastorale; and, after the event, a light supper and Vasily and Kathryn will be invited to join us.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply answer this question: What did Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture commemorate?

Send your answers on a postcard, including daytime contact number, to PERFECT PITCH, Wirral News, PO Box 48, Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L69 3EB. To arrive no later than 4pm Tuesday June 14.

Perfect Pitch tickets are on sale online at www.birkenheadschool.co.uk, by post using a booking form on the school website, or by telephone on 0151 652 4014. Enquiries can also be sent to mary.butterworth@birkenheadschool.co.uk
