How excited are you about the possibilities Wirral Waters can bring to the peninsula?
It’ll add something to the viewpoint from over in Liverpool. It’s really good to get the development and will give you something to go there for.
Was Ken Clarke wrong to make his comments about rape sentencing?
I think everyone has got freedom of speech so he can say it. If someone was sitting in the pub and heard that, you wouldn’t have to apologise. Even though he’s in the limelight, he’s entitled to his opinion.
Do you feel sorry for Imogen Thomas or should she expect this kind of treatment after having an affair with a Premiership footballer?
I think if you know you’re going to have an affair with a footballer, you know there’s going to be trouble. But I think it’s unfair if he’s got enough money to afford to stop someone speaking out about them and she hasn’t. It takes two to tango.
What do you make of Bromborough councillor Steve Niblock’s decision to defect to Labour?
It’s a bit of a cop out. I think if you’re going to work in politics and choose one party, there’s no point in representing it if you’re not 100%. I think you become discredited by swapping over.
And finally, what’s been the big topic in your bar this week?
We had a staff night out and had regulars voting for their best staff. Ben won Best Barperson, Ste won Best Male Eye Candy, I won Best Female Eye Candy and Rhi won Most Improved Barperson.
