Revolver in Birkenhead teams up with 7 Waves Radio to showcase new bands every Thursday

REVOLVER is aiming to breathe new life into Thursdays by making it a night for new bands.

The Birkenhead venue has support from Vendetta Records and now 7 Waves Radio, who are launching their showcase night at Revolver this Thursday, March 3.

Azars and The Fix are already lined up, with a third band to be announced as Wirral News went to press.

With a grounding of well written songs and a critically acclaimed live show, the Azars have been playing gigs across the country to audiences of more than 300 people.

Organiser and promoter, Ken Eaves said he was optimistic that the night would become an institution.

He said: “One of the great advantages of being involved with the radio station is that we can offer bands interviews and sessions here on 7 Waves on a Tuesday night programme called The Edge.

“The biggest benefit for the bands and for us though is to be associated with the best live rock music venue around and that’s Revolver.

“We hope other bands will come along to take advantage of this increased exposure.”

Keith Thompson, spokesman for Revolver, said: “We have been really impressed by the professionalism and enthusiasm shown by Ken and we have no doubt that this will be the first of many similar promotional nights for local bands.”

Revolver has become a safe haven for original rock bands and festival darlings Beholder are playing on Friday.

On Thursday the first band will be on stage at 8.30pm.
