Forever In Blue Jeans show promises a toe-tapping night of feel-good tunes at the Floral Pavilion Theatre

FOREVER In Blue Jeans are bringing the feel-good hits of the 1950s, 60s and 70s to the Floral Pavilion Theatre later this month.

The new touring production begins its musical journey by looking back almost 60 years with rock ‘n’ roll favourites from Jerry Lee Lewis and Brenda Lee to The Beatles and also the Monkees.

Blue Jeans also celebrates 50 years of Motown, including hits from The Four Tops, the Jackson Five, Diana Ross and a host of other Detroit city favourites.

Meanwhile The Carpenters, Showaddywaddy and Abba bring audiences into the 70s and just in case there are any cowboys out there, the show take a trip into the silver screen to visit Oklahoma and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

A separate section of the programme pays tribute to the songwriting talents of legendary songster Burt Bacharach, and covers his many number one hits – including I’ll Never fall In Love Again, What The World Needs Now (Is Love Sweet Love), Do You Know The Way To San Jose and What’s New Pussycat among them.

The company delivering the classic tunes is led by TV and radio recording artistes Carole Gordon and Bob Newman who have toured with both Tammy Wynette and Boxcar Willie, and have been voted top British duo by the British Country Music Association for three consecutive years.

They have also had success in the USA with an invitation to represent Great Britain in Nashville, Tennessee.

The cast includes a trio of vocalists and dancers: Rachel Cantrell, who featured in the children’s hit West End musical Casper; Dominic Banks, who has appeared in a variety of productions ranging from Evita to High School Musical, and Paul Leno, who has starred in productions of Grease and Mary Poppins.

The talented Red Hot Blue Jeans Band perform instrumentals throughout the show.

Forever in Blue Jeans is at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton on Wednesday, August 25.

Tickets are £17/£16 from the box office on 666 0000 or www.floralpavilion.com
