show Joytime is taking place throughout the school summer holidays on the bandstand in Vale Park, New Brighton. Hosted by Aaron Hayes, it runs from 2.30 to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Admission is 50p. All are welcome.

NATIONAL CHAMPION

solo accordionist Adam Watts will be giving a talk, demonstration and performance at this Sunday’s Summer Serenade concert at Birkenhead Priory. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided, but donations to cover costs are requested. The concert starts at 3pm.

OFF THE GROUND

Theatre is bringing a high-energy take on a Shakespeare classic to Wirral this week. As You Like It (Punked Up) will be performed at Ness Gardens on Friday, August 6 and Saturday, August 7 and in Port Sunlight (opposite the Bridge Inn) on Sunday, August 8. Story is returning to the Floral Pavilion on Friday, August 6. The cast features Anfield legends Ian St John, Ron Yeats, Ian Callaghan and Chris Lawler, actor Steve Hazlehurst, who narrates the story, and writer John Keith, who speaks Shankly's words. Tickets are £12 (£10 concs) from 666 0000.
