Tom said: “Dad would certainly be proud of being remembered for Last of the Summer Wine because it was one of his best-loved roles, but there was so much more to the man.
“He was in 63 films, on Broadway and he wrote hits for people like Sacha Distel – the list is endless.
“I didn’t want to make the show just about Last of the Summer Wine but it is part of the story and I do show some clips from it. The show wouldn’t be the same without it.”
