Song Gift UK is for everyone

HOLBY City star Mark Moraghan has recorded his own song at a Wirral recording studio – and you can too.

The Wirral actor who appeared in Celebrity Masterchef and was a finalist in Just the Two of Us with Natasha Hamilton, took time out of his schedule to visit Rob and Alan Fennah at their studios in Birkenhead.

The producers of Twopence to Cross the Mersey, a production in which Mark also starred, devised Song Gift UK for anyone who wants to record their own song. £80 buys budding singers two hours behind the microphone at Cammell Lairds Waterfront Park and their own CD.

Rob said: “Mark heard about Song Gift UK and decided to have a go himself. We recorded two songs with him, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me and Swing Out.

“Both songs sounded so good and they were written by myself and Alan so we decided to release them.

“They will be available to download in the next few weeks.”

This experience is open to anyone, and a couple of hours in the recording studio can also make a great Christmas present.

Although your tracks may not be released like Mark’s, you will be able to take home your own CD.

Rob added: “Some of the singers we get in are really fantastic and it gives them a real buzz.

“Some of them go out and get gigs after visiting us and it also gives Alan and I a great opportunity to find new singers for our upcoming projects.”

Mark, who has recently released the album Moonlight's Back in Style with 5live presenter Nicky Campbell, said: “Song Gift UK is a great idea for all ages.”
