Down Our Street relives Cammell Laird story

“The History Busters are a team of young people who will work around Wirral creating pieces of theatre to celebrate the history of the peninsula, from the wonderful tales of the Vikings through to the culture around us today.

“Over the past couple of years the team at Active Drama have worked with groups creating plays about Flaybrick Memorial Gardens, Bidston Hill, Birkenhead Market and a musical play looking at the history of Tranmere Rovers.

“The History Busters will provide a permanent resource for young people to take part in whilst generating audiences to join the celebration.”

During its last run in 2004 Down Our Street was a sell-out and received rave reviews. The script was published in book form earlier this year.

Down Our Street will be performed at the Little Theatre, Birkenhead from November 17 to 21. Performances start at 7.30pm, with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee. Tickets are available by calling Active Drama on 652 0100
