WIRRAL JAZZ FRIENDS

present their 33rd charity jazz night at Heswall Royal British Legion on Friday (October 9) in aid of Claire House.

The Big Easy band, led by Terry Perry, will be playing jazz classics from the ragtime era and from the 1920s and 30s. Special guest for the night is clarinet, sax, penny whistle and flute player George Galway.

THE GRASS ROOTS THEATRE COMPANY

is holding a supper theatre evening on October 10 at the Lounge Room, Heswall Royal British Legion. The play for the evening will be Goodbye For Now, a one-act comedy which won the Tony Morgan Trophy at this year’s Leverhulme Drama Festival.

WIRRAL UNITARIANS

will host another concert in their Charity Classics series on Sunday, October 11 at the Quaker Meeting House, Heswall.

There will be a selection of songs from soprano Patricia Heyes and John Rutter, flute pieces from Polly Spencer and light-hearted 18th Century music from the Wirral Double Reed Band. The concert starts at 3pm. Admission is £5, payable at the door. All proceeds will go to St John’s Hospice.

THE PORT SUNLIGHT

Players present comedy-horror the House of Frankenstein at the Gladstone Theatre, Port Sunlight from October 8 to 10. Performances start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 (£5 conc) from the box office on 643 8757.

HESWALL OPERATIC SOCIETY

and Wirral Schools Big Band are joining forces at the Gladstone Theatre from October 14 to 17 for Big Band Broadway. The concert will feature musical numbers from shows like 42nd Street, Evita and Chess. Tickets are £10 for adults and £7.50 for under 16s, available from the box office on 643 8757.
