ARTROOM Gallery’s next exhibition promises Inspirational Images from four highly-regarded artists.
The Parkgate-based venue is one of the leading independent galleries on the peninsula and curator Michelle Linger has maintained the high standard with her most recent offering.
The show brings together a collection from prolific abstract artist, Angela Charles, prize-winner Erin Ward, Cheshire-based artist Jenny Hirst and rapidly emerging Wirral artist, Matthew Snowden.
Michelle said: “These unique, original contemporary works of art enhance any wall space, bringing it to life and as the summer comes to a close and we start spending more time indoors, will certainly brighten up the duller autumn days.”
Heswall–born Matthew Snowden is renowned for producing large watercolours which have been inspired by the changing light, weather and atmosphere of the picturesque Dee Estuary.
Trained at Withens Lane Art College – now Wirral Met – 14 years ago, he spent the first decade of his career as a ‘plein air’ painter.
Michelle said: “Matthew has developed a bold, intuitive style of painting based on emotional response and physical engagement with the subject on location.”
In 2006, he won joint first prize at Wirral Society of Arts’ National Open Art Exhibition at the Williamson.
