Tivoli Trio reform for Summer Serenades concert to pay tribute to Brendan McCormack

BRENDAN McCormack’s Tivoli Trio are reforming on Sunday (August 23) to pay a second Summer Serenades tribute to the late guitarist.

The trio – Neil Smith (guitar), Jon Byrne (violin) and Nick Byrne (cello) – will be playing a concert of his arrangements.

New Brighton-based Brendan, who was once described by John Lennon as his favourite guitarist, founded the Summer Serenades series of concerts 23 years ago. He died of a heart attack in March.

The concert starts at 3pm in Birkenhead Priory, St Mary’s Gate, Birkenhead. Admission is free but donations are requested to cover costs. Refreshments are available and there will also be the opportunity to meet the performers for a post-concert chat. A full Summer Serenades programme is available from the Williamson Art Gallery.
