GRACE BARTON AND HER MEDIEVAL RECORDER

consort will perform a selection of baroque and contemporary music at Birkenhead Priory on Sunday, August 16

The concert, which starts at 3pm, is part of the Summer Serenades series, which continues until September 27.

Admission is free but donations are requested to cover costs. Refreshments are available and there is also the opportunity to meet the performers for a post-concert chat.

THE NEW SEASON AT THE GLADSTONE THEATRE

in Port Sunlight starts on Saturday, August 29 with a concert celebrating 25 years of the Gladstone Theatre Trust.

Song and Brass 2009 features the Flint Male Voice Choir, Port Sunlight Lyceum Brass Band and soprano Davina Jones.

BRITISH FOLK LEGEND RICHARD THOMPSON

is playing at the Floral Pavilion Theatre, New Brighton on Thursday (August 13).

A past Ivor Novello winner, his work has been recorded by artists like Bonnie Raitt, David Byrne and Elvis Costello. Tickets are £20 from the box office on 666 0000.

host a jam night at the Clarence pub on Albion Street, New Brighton, every Thursday. The event is from 9 to 11pm

PAUL GOULDEN

is giving a free performance in the Plaza of the Floral Pavilion at 12.30 today (Wednesday, August 12).

Tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis.

J D STONE

is the performer at this week’s meeting of Leasowe Castle Country & Western Music Club.

J D will be on stage from 7.30pm on Thursday (August 13) at Poulton Victoria Sports and Social Club, Wallasey.

Country and Western singers perform at the same venue every Thursday evening. Admission is £3.50 for members, £1 for children under 16, £2 for 16 and 17-year-olds and £5 for visitors.
