BIRKENHEAD CHORAL SOCIETY

is holding a summer concert, “Eminently English” at St Hilary’s Church, Claremount Road, Wallasey, on Saturday, June 27, starting at 7.30pm.

There will be a variety of English music with choral works by Parry, Elgar and Wesley, conducted by David Holroyd. Tickets are £10 (conc £8), available from 677 1129.

CELLIST ALEX HOLLADAY

will play a selection of classical and 20th century works on Sunday, June 21 at the Williamson Art Gallery, Slatey Road, Birkenhead. The concert, which starts at 3pm, is part of the Summer Serenades series. Admission is free but donations are requested to cover costs.

MUSIC FOR A SUMMER EVENING

will be performed at St Alban’s Parish Centre, Wallasey on Wednesday, June 24, with music from Wallasey Music Centre Chorale and Wirral String Orchestra.

The programme will include light classical popular music and songs from the shows. Tickets are £5 (£3), available on the door or from 638 0882 or 639 9341. Proceeds will go to the Wallasey 2 Lourdes Youth Group.
