Alexis Blue
IT’S going to be a hectic summer for Wirral indie/pop/rock band Alexis Blue – with a schedule that includes a UK tour and their biggest headline gig to date.
Alexis Blue formed in 2006 and their unique style has seen them play in Europe as well as performing with the likes of The Wombats, The Kooks and The Automatic.
They released their debut single You Won’t Get Much Sleep in summer 2007, which led to their music video being broadcast on MTV.
The four-piece, who all come from Wallasey and New Brighton, released their debut album Hypothetical Situations last November.
2008 also saw the band performing alongside established artists such as Noah & The Whale and Little Man Tate, while also having a live set and interview broadcast on Channel 4 as part of the Road To V Final show.
They are now hoping to build on their recent success by touring the UK over the next three months.
The tour will take in cities including Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Sheffield, Manchester, Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Reading, Blackpool and Barnsley, with more still to be confirmed.
Alexis Blue say they are inspired by “predominantly modern music like The Libertines, The Coral and Supergrass” as well as The Beatles.
The band is made up of Andeh Stewart, Chris Stewart, Paul Easton and Mark Easton, who spent the first months of 2009 writing and rehearsing brand new material for their tour.
The dates will include a special homecoming performance at Vale Park in New Brighton on Saturday, June 6.
Alexis Blue will also be headlining Liverpool O2 Academy on Saturday, July 18, performing alongside US band Hockey.
