Wirral Metropolitan College drama students form a conga of hugs through Birkenhead market

A FLASH mob event took place in Birkenhead last week when almost 100 drama students hugged, clapped and did the conga.
The Wirral Metropolitan College pupils went to Birkenhead market and hugged as many people as they could in 90 seconds.
They then went to the steps at Liverpool One and clapped to celebrate Barack Obama’s inauguration before doing the conga.
Leader of the group Saul Murphy said: “This type of flash theatre gave my students a chance to rid themselves of their inhibitions.
“It was really exciting and something totally unique to do.”
