BIRKENHEAD punks Instant Agony return to Wirral for their annual Christmas gig at Hotel California on December 19.
The hardcore four-piece headline the end-of-year show with support from Co Durham’s Keyside Strike and local bands Dead Class and Dirt Blonde.
The bash marks the end of a hectic year of gigging for the band with the lads finishing 2008 a little closer to home than the festivals and tours that have taken them across the UK and Europe.
This year saw the band playing to crowds in Italy, Germany and at the legendary Rebellion festival in Blackpool.
It’s been over 25 years since the Birkenhead quartet started gigging and recording, yet it seems there are no plans to stop in the near future.
The group are looking to go back into the studio in 2009 to record new material and prepare for another year of touring.
Next year also sees a possible return to America for the band.
This December’s show will be the seventh Wirral Christmas show, a gig that always draws a great turnout.
The annual homecoming show gives the band an opportunity to say thank you to all their local fans for their long-standing support.
Guitarist Tabby says: “We always like to see as many people as possible at the Christmas punks bash to end the year on a high.”
Doors open at Hotel California at 9pm with entry £3 before 10pm and £5 after.
