THE Kings of Canvas are coming to Pacific Road Arts Centre this Friday (December 5).
Europe’s longest-established wrestling tour, All Star Wrestling, is coming to Birkenhead as part of a nationwide winter tour.
Organisers are aiming to offer high-powered action and thrills at bargain prices.
More than a quarter of a million people watched All Star events last year and the support has continued throughout 2008, with a fiercely competitive Great Britain v North America theme.
Already this year transatlantic ring legends ‘Vampire Warrior’ Gangrel, dual world title holder Joe E.Legend, high flying ‘American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson and towering ‘American Disaster’ Broady Steele have been flying the flag.
Other North American stars this year have included Canadian former WWE tag stars Karl-Pierre Ouellet and outspoken tag partner Rene Dupree, plus the abrasive ‘Cincinnati Kid’ Chad Collyer, ever controversial ‘Brooklyn Brawler’ Julio Torres and American independent discovery Eddie ‘Flash’ Edwards who are often joined by 20 stones battling ‘Barbarian‘ Karl Kramer.
Londoner James Mason leads a home contingent including Potteries powerhouse Robbie Dynamite, firm fans’ favourite Kid Cool, Wirral livewire ‘Xtreme’ Dean Allmark and Scotland’s new title contender Lee Thomas.
Long-haired Frankie Sloan is hoping his ‘Liverpool Lads’ tag partner Robbie Brookside, the reigning Superslam British heavyweight title holder, will soon be back in the ring following late August knee surgery.
The event starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 (£10 concessions) and £35 for a family ticket, available from the box office on 666 0000.
