Colwyn Male Voice Choir will provide season finale at Wirral's Gladstone Theatre

THE Colwyn Male Voice Choir will be bringing the curtain down on a hugely successful season at the Gladstone Theatre later this month.

The Port Sunlight theatre will be closing its doors for a summer recess of five weeks after the concert on Wednesday, July 23.

This season has seen more performances than ever before and a 20% increase in audience numbers.

The Colwyn Male Voice Choir was established in 1972 and is the only UK-based choir to be invited to sing at the International Festival of Male Voice Choirs in Barcelona.

Another claim to fame was an appearance in an episode of TV’s Two Fat Ladies cookery programme, in which the choir was invited to sing for its supper on top of the Great Orme, Llandudno.

During the close-down period box office facilities at the Gladstone will be extended and work under- taken to improve stage equipment.

A new year of productions starts in September and What’s On brochures are available from the theatre.

Tickets for the performance by the Colwyn Male Voice Choir are £7 and £6, available from the box office on 643 8757.
