NEWLY-CROWNED Wirral Chef of the Year Dominic Pospisil will demonstrate the talents that took him to the title at Port Sunlight’s Christmas Food Fayre.
Dominic, from Gem Restaurant in Heswall will join Julian Davies of Julian’s in Hoylake and Richard Fox – who was Wirral Chef of the Year for 2010 – at the event’s cookery theatre in Hulme Hall.
The chefs will be creating a tantalising selection of their most popular dishes as well as taking the audience through some more complicated creations.
The fayre takes place on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4.
Julian said: “Live demonstrations have always given me a real buzz.
“It’s wonderful to get involved with the audience and show them a range of kitchen skills they can use at home.
“I’m going to taking the audience through a couple of my personal favourite recipes – sherba soup, a delicious North African concoction, as well as a decadent chocolate fondant pudding which is always popular at the restaurant.”
Richard Fox, who works just a stone’s throw away at the Leverhulme Hotel’s Paesano restaurant, said: “I’m going to be giving everyone a sneak preview of our new winter menu with a twist on the traditional duck casserole – it’s the perfect winter warmer.”
Chocolatiers Bala Croman of the Chocolate Cellar and Toby Beevers of Kokonoir Chocolate will be on hand for those with a sweet tooth while Ceri Newton of Gorge’Us will be showing how to create sweet treats with leftover advent calendar chocolates.
Lionel Bolland, chief executive of Port Sunlight Village Trust, said: “We look forward to welcoming Wirral talent to the demonstration stage at this year’s Christmas Food Fayre.
“It is their passion for food excellence that propels this region into some of the top food guides and provides us with fine dining on our doorstep.”
Demonstrations are free apart from those led by celebrity chefs Simon Rimmer and Cyrus Todiwala, which are £5 per session.
Tickets are available in advance from Port Sunlight Museum Shop. Call 0151 644 6466.
