PORT Sunlight is to host its second annual Christmas Food Fayre.
Following the success of last year’s event, the Wirral village will transform into a winter wonderland again to welcome chefs, producers and food lovers this December.
Lionel Bollard, chief executive of Port Sunlight Trust, said: “We are thrilled to welcome back our Christmas Food Fayre for the second year running this December.
“At last year’s inaugural event, the village was filled with over 9,000 visitors, far exceeding our expectations, so this year we have put together a wonderful schedule of events that is certain to draw in the crowds.”
Housed within historic Hulme Hall and surrounding grounds, the fayre will feature more than 100 local producers and artisan craft stalls, as well as chef demonstrations that will show how to roast chestnuts to perfection and festive fairground rides.
Specialist food producers will be offering a festive feast of cheeses, cakes, confectionery, pickles, preserves and puddings. Skilled artisans will also be displaying a variety of different crafts.
Highlights will include stalls filled with Claremont Farm produce and specialist cheeses from the Liverpool Cheese Company.
There will be a mulled wine bar, a tree to sing carols around, and a brass band.
Wirral chef and Something for the Weekend host Simon Rimmer will lead a full schedule of gastronomic delights showcased by the region’s top restaurants.
Mr Bollard added: “With such a wonderful local offering, Wirral’s finest producers will come together with the country’s most talented chefs at the Christmas Food Fayre to create an event that is not to be missed.
“We are proud to be able to showcase our wealth of local excellence and inspire those attending to celebrate the incredible seasonal produce available right on our doorstep.”
Whether it’s gift hunting you’re after, a chance to relax and enjoy good food and drink or a fun day out with the whole family, Port Sunlight Christmas Food Fayre has everything you need for the perfect Christmas.
